Weight is an attribute and mechanic in Outward, related to the Inventory, Equipment and Movement Speed mechanics.

Overview

All equipment and items have weight, even Silver SilverIcon, the currency. Technically, there are really three kinds of weight:

  • Total weight: this includes Equipment, Pouch and Backpack contents. When this number exceeds 30kg, the player begins to slow down slightly.
  • Pouch weight: the player always has a pouch, even without any equipment. By default this is 10kg, but can be increased with an attribute called Pouch Bonus. Exceeding one's pouch limit capacity will result in the Pouch Overweight status.
  • Bag weight: essentially the same as Pouch weight, but based on the player's backpack. The associated weight effect is Bag Overweight.
