The Kazite are a minor faction in Outward. They are refugees from a cataclysmic volcanic event which razed their island, and the majority of them now live permanently at sea in the floating city Oroshi, or as pirates. In-game, they are found most commonly in the Chersonese region.

Description[ | ]

Following the events of the cataclysmic volcanic eruption which razed their island, the Kazite became seafaring refugees, and their fleet grew to the point of being a 'floating city', Oroshi. The Blue Chamber offered the Kazite a place within their own settlements, and now many Kazite people can be found in the Chersonese region, as well as some in Enmerkar Forest [1]. Despite this hospitality, many Kazite are pirates, or have allied with hostile factions such as The Vendavel.

Lore[ | ]

After the destruction of the Kazite home islands by a volcanic eruption, they took to the sea.

They've since combined several ships, driftwood from destroyed vessels, and more to create a large floating city.

Round the clock watches are manned for turbulent storms and waves, and it is only due to the tireless efforts and expertise of the Kazite people that the city has not yet been torn asunder by the sea.
~ Aegix Drakan (Writer, Nine Dots)

Language[ | ]

The Kazite have a unique language, which they seem to mix into the common language of Aurai. Some of their words include:

  • "Amba" - a greeting
  • "Nindiria" - roughly translates to "sea-brother"

It seems that the Kazite language is heavily based on the now-extinct Mangue language.

  1. [Quote from Gheeyom (dev) in Discord] Kazites are refugees from a volcanic cataclysmic event that razed their island. Following that, they started living on boats, to the point where their fleet is considered a floating city, Oroshi. Seeing as they had nowhere to go, the Blue Chamber offered them a place within their own settlements. It shows that while the Blue Chamber has strict laws about accountability, they are also compassionate and never leave someone without a family. There are many Kazite exiles who act as pirates however.
