Resting-UI

A screenshot of the resting UI.

Resting is a mechanic in Outward. Resting is an abstraction of three activities: sleeping, guarding, and repairing equipment.

Sleeping

Recovers and heals 5% of burnt Max Health and Stamina but Burns 5% Max Mana per hour spent resting.

Rest

  • For every game world hour that passes, your character loses a bit more than 1% of sleep.
  • The player is considered rested with no penalties between 50 to 100% sleep.
  • At 49% - 25% sleep, the player receives the Needs: Very Tired effect (-15% stamina regen, +0.2 Mana Regen per second).
  • Below 25% sleep, the player receives the Needs: Tired effect (-30% stamina regen, +0.3 Mana Regen per second).

(Note: The debuff names are currently incorrectly displayed ingame, they should be reversed)

If playing a mage character, it may be desired to get to low sleep in order to gain the mana regeneration effect. To quickly get to low sleep, use a Plant Tent to 'guard/repair'. This will replenish your Food and Water to 100% while bringing your sleep down.

Guarding

Repairing

Recovers 10% of Equipped equipments durability per hour spent repairing.
