Pholiota is a secret merchant found in various dungeons in the Antique Plateau.
Description[]
Pholiota is a rare non-hostile Troglodyte. He starts the game out in touchy circumstances, having been captured by his fellow trogs. If the player frees him, he will unfortunately be captured again by bandits. If freed again, Pholoiota will become a merchant, selling items in dungeons on a cart pulled by a Veaber.
His fortunes improve more after you complete any major faction quest, with his cart now being filled with all sorts of wares and being able to sell more items of higher quality.

To unlock this merchant, you need to free them from captivity twice.
First, you’ll need the Troglodyte Cage Key, which you can find on a corpse within the Abandoned Living Quarters. Use this key to free the merchant from the Troglodyte Warren, located a bit north of the Ancient Turbine.
The second time, you’ll need the Bandit Cage key, which can be found on the Kazite Lieutenant in the Kazite Bandit Camp in exterior Antique Plateau. Use this key to free the merchant from the Bandit Hideout, located north of the Old Theatre’s bridge.
Once you free the merchant twice, they will spawn within the dungeons listed below. They always spawn quite close to the train that takes you to the area, but the spawn is not guaranteed so you may need to re-enter the area a few times to find them.

- Bandit Hideout
- Compromised Mana Transfer Station
- Crumbling Loading Docks
- Destroyed Test Chambers
- Forgotten Research Laboratory
- Lost Golem Manufacturing Facility
Inventory[]
Pholiota has two variants - a "Low" stock and a "High" stock. High stock only becomes available after completion of any major faction quest chain.
