Imbues

Imbues are positive status effects in Outward that last a reasonably long time and increase the potency of the player's combat abilities.

List of melee weapon imbues

Melee weapon Imbues have an associated item that activates them (Often of the same name), and they generally last between 90–180 seconds.

Melee Imbues infuse current weapon with an element, increasing its base damage and adding elemental damage on top of it. Exact values and effects varies between imbues and even for the same imbue received through different means.

	Poison Imbue	Chance to inflict Poison or Extreme Poison
	Decay Imbue	+20% base damage +15 Decay damage
	Ethereal Imbue	+10% base damage +15 Ethereal damage
	Wind Imbue	Increased Impact and attack speed. Increased stamina cost of attacking.

List of pistol imbues

Pistol imbues are acquired via Mercenary skills. Unlike melee weapon imbues, they have no set duration and expire after one shot of the pistol.

	Shatter Bullet Imbue	Next pistol shot inflicts Pain and has increased impact.
	Frost Bullet Imbue	Next pistol shot inflicts Frost damage, Slow Down, and Crippled.
	Blood Bullet Imbue	Next pistol shot inflicts Decay damage.

Shield imbues are acquired via the Shield Infusion mercenary skill.

	Frost Shield Imbue	Blocking an attack with this shield emits an explosion of Frost damage
	Lightning Shield Imbue	Blocking an attack with this shield emits an explosion of Lightning damage
	Decay Shield Imbue	Blocking an attack with this shield emits an explosion of Decay damage
	Ethereal Shield Imbue	Blocking an attack with this shield emits an explosion of Ethereal damage
