This problem will be sorted out later on as you get more passive skills like Armor Training, Peacemaker Elexir, Efficiency and Spellblade's Awakening which in total give you +60 stamina and -50% armor penalty for stamina cost and movement speed.

In regards to the backpack, something I found helpful when starting a new character, get 100 silver + 6 rations, go to berg and buy the 75 capacity Prospector Backpack the first thing you do so you can move around with the armor in the backpack. ^^

Full Build Details

This build came about as I wanted to make a warrior/mage hybrid. I ended up using the frost element cause it resonates with my sooouul. And FYI, in theory you could use the Rotwood Staff, Arcane Robe and Hood, etc. plus switch out the melee skills to make it a true mage build, if that's your jam.

In any case this build will only shine once you get the crimson set and brand, personally I used a lot of fire magic instead of frost on the way there. (Similar to the alternative hotbar setup below) Worth noting is that early on you'll probably run out of stamina in longer fights, so I recommend bringing some endurance potions.

^^ Also on the way back to Chersonese there's often an Ice Witch which might drop the Wide Blue Hat and a Bandit Lieutenant that drops a Round Shield and Iron Mace.

Later on I use the Mefino's Trade Backpack while travelling but switch to something like the Boozu Hide Backpack when exploring a zone. :)

• Step 1
- Get the Brutal Club and Tower Shield in southern Chersonese.

- Grab any heavy armor you come across like black plate armor or similar.

- Go to the top of Conflux Mountain and get the Strange Rusted Sword.

- Get mana, I got +5 which has been enough for me. You could probably go for
even less but I'm still happy with +5.

- Choose the Sigil of Fire and get the Cool skill from the Second Watcher.

• Step 2
- Go to Berg!

- Buy the Wide Blue Hat from Vay the Alchemist and the Blacksmith's Vintage Hammer
from Quikiza the Blacksmith.

- Start grabbing the Wild Hunter skills.

- Join The Blue Chamber Collective and complete Mixed Legacies.

- Go to the Old Coin's Inn to start the Blood Under The Sun quest,
then head back to Chersonese.

• Step 3
- Do the Vendavel Quest by sending Crock to fight Burac, help Balira kill her
husband at Corrupted Tombs and lastly kill Rospa.

- Now with Rospa's Crimson Shield and two Power Coils, go to Montcalm and get
Mefino's Trade Backpack.

- Grab any missing Spellblade skills and the pre-breakthrough skills of
Cabal Hermit if you haven't already.

- Head over to Levant!

• Step 4
- Grab all the pre-breakthrough Mercenary skills and the Pressure Plate Training
skill from the Rogue Engineer trainer.

- Complete Blood Under The Sun which also sets the prices to normal in Levant.

- Find Pigeoneye on top of the slums in Levant, give him at least enough silver
for Tamara the Smuggler to open her shop.

- Exit Levant by the rogue trainer and enter again, Tamara's shop is now ahead
and on the right, buy the Chimera Pistol.
(The Chimera Pistol has a 100% buildup of Elemental Vulnerability)

- Buy the Chemist's Broken Flask from Tuan the Alchemist.

• Step 5
- Head to Monsoon!

- Get the Philosopher skills, congrats your hotbar is ready for action!

- Buy the Mage's Poking Stick from Laine the Alchemist and combine it with
the Flask, Hammer and Sword to complete the sword Brand.

- Complete the faction quest, Ash Giants, with perfect success, gaining
the Blood of Giants passive. (+40 max health)

- Complete the faction quest, Whispering Bones, with perfect success,
gaining the Ancestors' Memories passive. (+25 max mana)

- Complete the faction quest, Ancestral Peacemaker, gaining a Peacemaker Elixir.
(+20 max health, stamina and mana) and the Crimson Plate Set.

• You did it!
- You have now created your very own Frozen Rage, Frost Tank!

• Below you can check out:
- The progression of my gear from my playthrough, for reference.

- An alternative hotbar using fire when frost won't cut it.

- Pre-combat setup if missing boons, but typically I setup the Frost Bullet long
before a fight, then keep cycling Cool and Frost Imbue, making the setup easier.

- A normal combat combo.

- A finisher for the last part of a fight.
