Beware the Jade Lich is a Minor Quest in Outward found within the Dark Ziggurat in western Hallowed Marsh.
Walkthrough[ | ]
Starting the Quest[ | ]
The quest begins after reaching the throne room at the very bottom inside the Dark Ziggurat. To arrive at this point, however, the player must first activate an elevator in the center entrance at the top of the structure. Interacting with levers in both the left and right interiors of the Dark Ziggurat will allow access to the elevator, though the sequence of the two makes no difference.
The Left Entrance[ | ]

Moving past the two Jade-Lich Acolytes, there are two paths to the lower floor. Both the ramp on the right and the stairs on the left lead to the same general area, though the stairs will take you directly to the room needed. A Blade Dancer roams the lower area and may need to be dealt with. Pull the lever once you find it at the partitioned northeast corner of the room and the Plague Doctor will remotely speak with you. This lever will also partially move a platform on this floor, which will bridge the two halves of the interior once both levers are interacted with.
The Right Entrance[ | ]

Keep hugging the right wall to reach the room with the lever after going down a ramp. Beware the Beast Golem, Blade Dancer, Forge Golem and Molten Forge Golems roaming the nearby halls. Once it is safe, you may interact with the switch at the north end of the room to initiate a dialog with the Plague Doctor, as well as move the nearby platform that connects both interiors.
The Center Entrance[ | ]
With both switches activated, the Plague Doctor invites you to his chamber, unlocking the elevator at the top of the ziggurat. Head to the middle entrance and use the elevator, which will take you to the lowest levels of the Dark Ziggurat. Note that this elevator is also used to access a hidden area to obtain a Tsar Stone locked behind a gate near the lever in the left interior (See Dark Ziggurat for details). After arriving at the bottom, pass through a door into an empty room and approach the throne at the end of it to begin another conversation with the Plague Doctor. It is at this point that the quest finally appears in the Journal Menu. Accept the duel and the throne may be used to teleport the player to the location's final area.
Confronting the Jade Lich[ | ]

Ahead is the Jade Lich, a powerful being with a strong affinity to the Decay element. See Plague Doctor for details about this battle. Once preparations are complete, interact with the throne to begin the boss fight in another, larger room.
Finishing Up[ | ]

After successfully defeating him, the player may come back and speak to the Plague Doctor at any time to have Tsar Weapons crafted (no wait time), without further combat. Crafting requires a Hackmanite and Palladium Scrap, as well as 1x Tsar Stone for one-handed weapons (including the shield) or 2x Tsar Stones for two-handed weapons. Any number of weapons may be commissioned, provided the player can cover the extraordinary material costs. To leave the chamber, interact with the sigil on the floor in front of the Lich.
